Work in Paradise

Eat, Pray, Love Your Life

I’m not sure if you have a pulse if you haven’t at least heard of Eat, Pray, Love. The memoirs of Elizabeth Gilbert, a writer who got divorced and left her life in NYC for an adventure of eating in Italy, praying in India and finding love in Bali. PS – her podcast is awesome! Oh, it’s also a movie starring Julia Roberts…

The reason why I say you can “Eat, Pray, Love Your Life” is because I’ve done it. In the fall of 2015 I had hit a wall. It was one that I knew well. I’d hit it before in 2008. And again in 2011. Yet, it was always in a different form. Sometimes even when everything I wanted to happen or get came through, I wasn’t “happy”. Or I’d make a stupid decision like that time I quit a great job twice. Society’s definition of success always left me wanting more.

Coworking in Bali

The time spent working out of all the different spaces in Bali helped me become a better communicator and lead me to connect with partners I still work with almost three years later. Oh, and yeah, the sights and tastes are amazing. The interaction with Mother Nature certainly taught me some lessons, too. I credit the whole experience as a major guide on this journey towards purpose.

Hubud is the OG coworking space on the island of Bali. Don’t get me wrong – there are ALOT of AWESOME spaces in Bali. Outpost, Dojo Bali and Kumpul to name a few. PLUS so many new coworking, coliving, shared and other spaces opening up so fast that I can’t keep up! Thankfully there’s Coworker.com…they’ve got over 20 listed with free day passes on your first visit! 👍🏻
