One of the reasons why we love coworking is because of how many different types of spaces there are! Today we’ve got a video tour of Hera Hub – Mission Valley in San Diego, CA.
Hera Hub – Mission Valley – San Diego, CA
Hera Hub was the first international female-focused coworking space & business accelerator. Founded in San Diego, CA in 2011, it’s a workspace that provides a “spa-influenced” design. Their locations engage all five senses:
- Sight (calming colors, art and live plants)
- Smell (aromatic candles to relax or invigorate)
- Sound (spa-like music & tranquil water)
- Feel (a variety of work station options)
- Taste (spa water, fresh tea and healthy snacks)
The Inspiration Behind Hera Hub
There are a lot of different takes on “niche” coworking. There are spaces for lawyers, for drop-shippers and even coworking for cannabis! One of the first to open such a niche type of space was founder, Felena Hanson. Rather than targeting a digital arts or high-tech audience, Hera Hub provides a beautiful, comfortable, professional and feminine space. In addition to productive workspace, they also foster a community of like-minded women who are all dedicated to helping each other in business and their personal life.

There are three locations in the San Diego, CA (Carlsbad, Mission Valley & Sorrento Valley) area and they have expanded to:
- Washington, DC (Accessible via Deskpass)
Additional locations are in the works for Atlanta, GA and Temecula, CA.
