The driving force that keeps me blogging is hearing from the occasional reader who thanks me for sharing either a coworking space recommendation, a travel hack or an opportunity to earn additional points and miles. I love sharing my knowledge with others, just like many have shared with me! I was riding high recently, since August 2020 was our best month ever at Coworkaholic. Many thanks due to our new addition of our Managing Editor, Brea Harris to the team. We had 74 blog posts this month – also a new site record! So, I was really surprised to have received this the other day:
I mentioned last month, in a pretty honest piece, that I’d been really struggling with how to continue blogging about travel when there are COVID-19 travel shamers ready to cancel you for taking a trip. How do you balance being responsible, creating content and making people happy? Well, the answer is you don’t.
I even stated:
“Our content has always been about travel, remote work, coworking and the like. It always will be. I’m all ears to hear what I can share to help folks adjusting to a WFH or remote work lifestyle.”
What did we publish in the month of August?
51 blog posts all about travel deals, ways to maximize bonus miles through promotions and shopping portals, trip ideas for during a pandemic and even after a pandemic, and the like. 68% of the blog posts were about travel/deals/points and miles. The other 23 posts were about coworking and how to improve working remotely or working from home. You know, a pretty relatable topic these days, since we’re still not back in offices.
