Thousands of British Airways’ Workers Have Been Forced Out

There is no doubt that COVID-19 continues to create many challenges for all of us. And when it comes to our jobs there have been many challenges with this as well.

Earlier today, thousands of British Airways’ workers received horrible news regarding the status of their employment.

British Airways Dismisses Employees by Email

The union representing many of British Airways’ cabin crew has called the airline “despicable” as thousands of redundancies were announced today.

More than 6,000 BA staff including cabin crew, engineers, and airports staff have applied for voluntary redundancy, according to BA. Of these, 4,500 are cabin crew based at Heathrow and Gatwick.

“This is a very bleak day for the incredible BA workforce and will go down in the history of the airline as the day that it put the interests of the boardroom ahead of its passengers and workforce.
