Dating back to 1997, the term “Digital Nomad” best describes someone who can work remotely thanks to advances made in internet, technology and modern culture.
Are Digital Nomads Really A Thing?
Yes! In fact you might be one without even knowing it. If you work for a company that offers telecommuting full time or run a business that isn’t dependent on physical location, you’re part of the grew! You just so happen to choose to live where you are, rather than somewhere like Thailand or Bali.
More often than not, digital nomads are ex-pats. Choosing to live in countries that provides any of the following: low cost of living, warmer climate or distance to mountains, water, etc. More have begun using coworking spaces (our preference, for sure). But plenty turn to coffee shops, public libraries, coliving or hostels or even their homes.
