Hawaii Update: Inter-Island Quarantine Will Be Partially Reinstated Tuesday

Calling all inter-island travelers in Hawaii! There’s new developments imposed by the governor that may affect your travels.

The governor of Hawaii, David Ige, has determined that any travelers arriving inter-island (includes Kaua‘i, Hawai‘i, Maui and Kalawao) must undergo a 14-day self-quarantine upon arrival.

The quarantine is to remain in effect until at least August 31st, 2020. After that date there’s possibility it may be terminated or extended.

This news is crucial for those that may have began planning trips to Hawaii. The reopening for tourism is currently scheduled for September 1st, 2020.

Update as 0f 09/01/2020: Hawaii has pushed back the reopening for tourism to October 1st, 2020 and visitors will need to be pre-tested.
